Last edited January 18, 2019

Dr. Jo Eckler was nearly born and partially raised in the newsroom to a photojournalist father and a reporter/editor mother. Since then, she has spent her career as a psychologist working with those who have experienced trauma directly, such as combat veterans, and indirectly, such as therapists, crisis hotline staff, and those monitoring military missions and intelligence. She has spoken on vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout to psychology interns, social work conferences, and other groups. Dr. Eckler is also the author of “I Can’t Fix You–Because You’re Not Broken: The Eight Keys to Freeing Yourself from Painful Thoughts and Feelings.”
