Dan Petty is the digital director of audience for MediaNews Group, the owner of publications including the Denver Post, San Jose Mercury News and St. Paul Pioneer Press. Prior to working for MediaNews, he spent eight years in the newsroom of the Denver Post in a variety of digital and editing roles. He focuses on content strategy and building loyal audiences, overseeing the strategies for social media, newsletters and newsroom metrics with a goal of growing the organization’s paid digital audience through digital subscriptions. In August, he began work toward an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and is slated to graduate in 2022.
