Asia Alexander is a senior at Howard University, majoring in journalism with a minor in political science. She has maintained a 3.7 GPA throughout her academic career and consistently earned a place on the dean’s list. Her outstanding performance has been recognized with awards such as Rookie of the Year and Howard’s Inaugural HUSA Dreamers Award.
Alexander has demonstrated exceptional skill in connecting with and interviewing notable figures, including Stacey Abrams, Angela Bassett, Michael B. Jordan, and Congresswoman Frederica Wilson. Her professional experience is diverse and impressive, encompassing internships at various prestigious organizations
She has contributed to Glitter Magazine as a staff writer and has written for the Washingtonian as a freelancer. At the Washington Informer, Alexander served as a social media intern, honing her graphics and video editing skills. Her political experience includes working on communications and social media for Senator Raphael Warnock. Additionally, she collaborated with Angela Rye, producing and editing digital segments for social media.
Alexander’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her founding of Young Black Women in Media, a community designed to share resources and opportunities for girls in the media industry. Currently, she is a communications specialist on the NASA 2040 project. Expanding her media presence, Alexander hosts a podcast on Spotify exploring current events and personal development topics. Her career aspirations involve leveraging her skills and passion to shape the digital media landscape.
