Aparna Mukherjee

Aparna is a product strategist and operations leader who’s run digital and mobile projects for some of the world’s biggest news outlets, and serves as an adviser to hardware and media startups. At The New York Times, she ran the paper’s online education ventures group, while her other innovation-focused roles include serving as McKinsey’s first social media editor and as director of operations for tech accelerator Grand Central Tech. Aparna has worked in newsrooms for AP, Bloomberg News, CNBC, and written for WSJ and The New Yorker. An alumna of Bryn Mawr College, she holds a joint Master’s in Journalism/MBA from Columbia, where she was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow and lectures on digital strategy to EMBAs. As an executive adviser to the City of Los Angeles, Aparna working on scaling civic storytelling to all 99 neighborhoods administered by the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment aka EmpowerLA.
