Alyssa Cooper is a senior at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) majoring in Broadcast Journalism. Hailing from Tallahassee, she has been actively involved in various aspects of campus media and journalism. Cooper has been a valuable contributor to the campus newspaper, the FAMUan, for over a year and a half. She initially served as a staff writer before taking on the role of news editor. Currently, she holds the position of sports editor for the publication.
In addition to her work with the FAMUan, Cooper is deeply involved with FAMU TV 20 News at Five, the university’s live newscast. Her roles there include associate producer, live shot reporter, server operator, and sports anchor, showcasing her versatility in broadcast journalism.
Cooper’s involvement extends beyond student media. She also works at FAMU’s School of Allied Health Sciences, gaining additional professional experience in an academic setting.
As a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Cooper actively participates in regular volunteer work both through her sorority and at the university. This commitment to community service demonstrates her dedication to giving back and making a positive impact beyond her academic pursuits.
