Abe is one of those rare creatures who has spent his entire professional tenure at one place. He serves as digital planning editor at The Arizona Republic, and has previously been homepage manager and online news editor. Prior to his move to digital in 2000, he served as an assignment editor and reported in a variety of beats, including police, courts, city hall, criminal justice and general assignment. Abe is a national governing board member of the Asian American Journalists Association and also moonlights occasionally as an adjunct professor at the Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University.
