She is originally from Norfolk, Virginia, but has been living in D.C. for the past year and a half. She has a wide range of experience in the field, including photojournalism, videography, broadcast and traditional reporting. Throughout her years as a student journalist, she has covered diverse topics, from inmates at Sing Sing Correctional Facility engaged in a rehabilitation program to small business owners in Washington, D.C. recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, she wrote a piece exploring the ethical dilemmas journalists face when covering instances of domestic violence. She has experience reporting for The Eagle, American University’s student newspaper, and is currently a graphic designer on its multimedia team. She hopes to merge her studies involving social and criminal justice with journalism to help give a voice to those who are often silenced.
