We all love the First Amendment, but what does “freedom of the press” actually cover? How do libel and fair use work in the age of the Internet? Why shouldn’t you just grab a photo from Google?
Join us for a training session on legal issues in the current media environment, hosted by ONA legal counsel, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. Special thanks to our speakers: Kathleen Cullinan and Jon Segal, both of whom work closely with content creators – from journalists to television and film producers – on the legal issues they encounter.
Check in at the lobby of 865 South Figueroa and they will direct you to Davis Wright Tremaine’s offices on the 24th floor.
Doors open at 6:30; panel begins at 7.
Light refreshments available.
TRANSPORTATION
Public Transit: Take the Red, Purple, Blue, or Expo line to 7th Street/Metro station.
Parking: Pay parking is available around the corner from Figueroa on 8th Place.
