Once again, the Online News Association is putting its conference logo into your hands. We’re giving you the chance to create a logo that will represent this year’s conference in San Francisco — and our 10th anniversary.
What we’re looking for A versatile image that brings together the celebration of ONA’s first decade, the vibe of Silicon Valley and "ONA09."
What’s in it for me? Not only is this your chance to strut your stuff in front of the online journalism community, but the winning artist will also receive free registration to the Oct. 1-3 conference. We’ll also recognize your work during Saturday night’s Online Journalism Awards banquet, ending the conference!
What are you looking for? The conference logo should represent both online news and our host city of San Francisco. It should be a flexible image that works on everything from the ONA Web site to widgets, banners, T-shirts, conference badges, e-mails and conference materials. The colors in the logo will also help dictate the overall colors for conference signage, printed materials and the Web site.
Logos from prior conferences are below as examples, including the winner of the first design contest, in 2008, Scott Johnson, Art Director, Associated Press Multimedia (bottom logo).
How can I enter? Send your 7.125” wide by 1.125” tall, 300 dpi submissions to Danny Dougherty at ONA09logo@journalists.org with the subject “ONA Conference Logo” and you’re in! Please keep in mind that we may ask the winning artist to edit his/her design as the conference planning process continues. Acceptable file formats include PDF, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Gif, JPEG, PNG, Tiff, EPS, Freehand, SVG or as a static SWF.
Deadline is Monday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m. ET.
