AWARDS
Awards Committee volunteers meet via teleconference biweekly to discuss and refine the rules governing the Online Journalism Awards. Volunteers also recruit screeners and direct the judging process.
CONFERENCE 2010
Spend a few hours a week helping to drive the premier annual conference dedicated to digital journalism. Help plan cutting-edge sessions and tracks and recruit thought-leading speakers. Or help with the details and logistics that ensure a smooth experience. You can also promote and design social activities and workshops around the conference.
DEVELOPMENT
Be part of ONA's fundraising efforts to keep members on the cutting edge of digital journalism by supporting annual online, email and challenge campaigns.
DIVERSITYAid ONA in supporting geographic, gender, cultural, racial and ethnic diversity, as well as diversity in media and platform, by working on its initiatives in membership, training, research and networking.
EDUCATION/ACADEMICHelp recruit, reach out to and support professors, teachers and students researching, studying and teaching digital journalism and technology at academic institutions, from high school to graduate programs. Help plan training sessions, seminars and workshops, and student campus groups. Help in continued development of a wiki for syllabi and teaching strategies and an online forum examining academic and industry research.
EVENTS & TRAINING
Help organize training events and meetups in your part of the world to keep members abreast of the latest developments in ONA and online journalism. Your level of commitment is entirely up to you.
INTERNATIONAL
Our recently restructured committee focuses on recruiting and organizing global members, with emphasis on networking, training and sharing wide-ranging experience and expertise.
LEGAL AFFAIRS
This committee advises the Executive Committee on the briefs, suits and filings that ONA should support. Help develop expert resources, blogs and webinars to give online journalists legal guidance.
