Conference information

What you need to know for travel

For those of you who need to book your tickets now, here's some travel information you're going to need.

The conference runs from Thursday, Sept. 11 to Saturday Sept. 13.

Thursday, Sept 11 is not actually an official conference day, but will instead feature a variety of extra workships featuring subjects like social networking, multimedia, and investigative journalism. We'll have all the details of these workshops up by Tuesday, July 8. The workshops will start at 9 in the morning, with a break for lunch and then finish up by five.

Thursday night there is a reception at the Newseum for those attending the ONA conference. Check the schedule for the updated time.

The conference begins with registration at 8 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12. First sessions start at 9 a.m., and end that day at 5 p.m.

Friday night there is a networking reception at the hotel, sponsored by the Washington Post. Check the schedule for the updated time.

The conference resumes Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., with lunch and coffee breaks. From 6-7 p.m. there is a awards reception sponsored by The New York Times. The OJA Awards Banquet will be held from 7-10 p.m.
