The success of online journalism is measured by factors such as accuracy, fairness and reporting the truth. But as a business the success of a news site is measured by pageviews, impressions and engagement.
So, how can your site be successful?
Metrics experts Dorian Benkoil and Hosam Elkhodary attempted to answer that question at Thursday's panel Using Metrics to Make Your Site Sticky.
“I come at this with a business perspective,” said Benkoil, a former reporter for Newsweek and the Associated Press who now consults with Teeming Media. “You can use the [page counting and traffic-related] tools to help understand how the audience is moving through the site.”
